Simple, Easy way to Help

Mama Beth children Program gives you the chance to support families living with orphaned children, abandoned, extremely poor and those with parents living with HIV Virus in Kijabe, Kenya. With your help, we can give these children the care they need, providing them with food, healthcare, education and emotional support. This program also helps provide extracurricular activities including Mentorship, games, spiritual programs for the children in order to build their social skills.
The program has taken off like a sky-rocket and we hope it continues this way. The need is so great, and the contrast between their need and our plenty is so huge. The commitment can be a minimum of $50 sponsorship per month to one Child. The situation is not at all bleak, for this small amount of money can go a long way. School fees that seem as tall as a mountain to a Kenyan are really very little in dollars. We have nearly a hundred registered children in our program at this time and we hope to expand the program to include hundreds more. The need is great.

Immeasurable Love

16th June 2012 was first full day KIST C.U. visited Mama Beth Children Program, Kijabe Kenya.  When we first got to Kijabe, we had a meeting outside the home with the students to go over the day. We had a worship session, it was amazing, these students can SING! Then we prayed. During this time, children are coming in. Students are starting to get to know them; they are amazing, funny, witty, and so much fun. Can’t even fully explain it!

Once inside the home, the students divided into about six groups and engaged in the day’s beehive of activities that included cooking, cleaning the hall, tilling the garden, repairing the fence and floral work. The students then served the kids with mouthwatering meals which they prepared.

We later played so many games and they got way into them, coming up with dances and cheers. Awesome! This team was high in spirits and excited for what they did.
Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) is a non-denominational post-secondary Technical Training Institution built through Harambee efforts by the local people and some generous donations from two Protestant Church organizations from overseas viz: I.C.C.O. of Netherlands and E.Z.E of West Germany.  www.kist.ac.ke/

Please keep Mama Beth Children Program in prayer as we make these kids future hopeful.

Special

I know I start every blog the same, but WOW I wish I could really explain everything that goes on in Mama Beth Children Program. It just isn't possible, but it is for sure a privilege to be with kids at Kijabe. This month’s visit was different and amazing……
The event was intense and full of the serious and impacting experiences to the kids and myself.  My goodness, these kids are amazing. Before you get these update, a hint for you. When with kids, decide to step away from the seriousness and become just like one of the kids.  Adaptation to their culture makes it a wonderful experience all over.

One 19th May 2012, the kids divided into two groups: Rhinos and Buffaloes and I led them in different competitive games. Buffaloes won in much power and energy despite the rain challenge. Mama Beth Children Program exists to help children at Kijabe in Central Kenya. Most of the kids in these families sleep hungry. Some are orphans, others HIV + and in really bad condition. Love a child today and create a smile in their face today and remember you can give without loving, but you can never love without giving.

Are You Raising A Happy Child?

Happiness is the road to a healthy life. A happy child is a healthy child with masses of confidence and sense of security. Children today are stressed out! We have a responsibility to make children happy whether your own child or an orphans.
To be happy yourself, you would need to make yourself a priority. Take breaks for yourself. Find time for friendships. Set time aside to inspire children and make a difference. Mama Beth Children Program opens wide doors for all people to come and have fun with children who are orphaned, HIV positive and others from extremely poor background and sponsorship partnership.
If you are happy yourself, you can create the right kind of atmosphere for these children to pick up the skill.
Make a choice and commitment! Let us inspire these children to dream their dreams, no matter how big they may seem. Teach them not to give up on their problems: whether it is a difficult mathematical equation or a sports endeavor that seems impossible to win. Let them learn to enjoy the pursuit. Allow their personalities to flourish fully.

So Far So Good!

As we embark on 2012 it has dawned on me just how special 2011 really was.  In what seemed to be a very short year as it flew by with many events and experiences, we were proud of the direction Mama Beth Children Program (MBCP) went. We had an incredible year with more growth than we anticipated. Goals have been set for Mama Beth Children Program; however last year was something special. There were so many selfless individuals who contributed to an outstanding year. We watched as Debbie Young and her two daughters took MBCP children to a breathtaking safari to Maasai Mara National Park. We also enjoyed smiling children during our Christmas celebration courtesy of David W and his family, the Lead Sponsors to MBCP. We as well celebrate Jane Wathagana, the program lead here in Kenya.  We celebrate you all as children in this program.  We had a great year and look forward to what 2012 will bring and sharing  many more great stories with all of you who support us. Please support us with your time and finances and GBU.
