16th June 2012 was first
full day KIST C.U. visited Mama Beth Children Program, Kijabe Kenya. When
we first got to Kijabe, we had a meeting outside the home with the students to
go over the day. We had a worship session, it was amazing, these students can
SING! Then we prayed. During this time, children are coming in. Students are
starting to get to know them; they are amazing, funny, witty, and so much fun.
Can’t even fully explain it!
Once inside the home, the students
divided into about six groups and engaged in the day’s beehive of activities
that included cooking, cleaning the hall, tilling the garden, repairing the
fence and floral work. The students then served the kids with mouthwatering
meals which they prepared.
We later played so many games and they
got way into them, coming up with dances and cheers. Awesome! This team was
high in spirits and excited for what they did.
Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology
(KIST) is a non-denominational post-secondary Technical Training Institution
built through Harambee efforts by the local people and some generous donations
from two Protestant Church organizations from overseas viz: I.C.C.O. of
Netherlands and E.Z.E of West Germany. www.kist.ac.ke/
Please keep Mama Beth Children Program in prayer as we make these kids future
hopeful.
